The Learning and Skills Council (LSC) was a non-departmental public body jointly sponsored by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) and the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) in England. It was replaced by the Skills Funding Agency and the Young People’s Learning Agency in 2010.
For LSC, a leaflet was designed for their ‘Nominate your champion of learning’ scheme. The leaflet had perforated edges, so the pages could be filled in and torn off to be placed into a ballot. A butterfly theme was used to highlight the ‘change’ people could make in their lives by learning a new skill. Alongside the leaflet, event banner stands were also created.
The event banner stands used the popular ‘pull up’ system for easy set up and de-rigging. Whilst the designs extended the full length of the banners, the key text and messaging was positioned near the top and did not fall into the lower half of the banner, so a standing person could easily read the important information.
